Minutes of February 9, 2005 Board Meeting

 

The monthly board meeting of Danvers Youth Football, Inc. was held on February 9, 2005 at the Knights of Columbus in Danvers, MA.

 

Attendance:  Ron Hennessey, Tom Ladd, Rich Smith, Frank Pallino, Mike Mansfield, Catherine Wolniewicz, William B. Harrison, June Blanchette, Garret Burns, John Kobierski.

 

The meeting was called to order 8:03 p.m.

I.                   Secretary’s  Report

Motion made by Ron Hennessey to accept report, seconded by Mike Mansfield.

Minutes unanimously passed.

II.                Budget Reports

Cheering- presented by Catherine Wolniewicz.  They would like to purchase new uniforms for the 7th and 8th grade cheering squad and possibly purchase new vests for a 4th squad if instated. 

She also would like to see if they could get the old mat from the high school. (They have purchased a new one)  She would like to offer a donation to them if they agree.

Would like to designate some money for training the coaches with manuals and training workshops.

Tom Ladd asked Rich Smith to budget cheering with $12,045.00

 

Administration- presented by Ron Hennessey. DYF Insurance policy will be $2700.00. The Cape Ann Insurance is $1300.00. DYF Insurance covers what Cape Ann Insurance does not.

The Insurance is a backup for families.

Operations- Tom Ladd spoke for Barry Little. 

            Snack Bar - $3,000.00

Web Site-       $300.00

Banquet-     $8,800.00

Scholarship-   $500.00

Apparel-      $1,000.00

                                    Tom Ladd predicts that the numbers at sign up are going up.

                                    The registration fees and sibling discounts should be looked at.

They will be presented at next month’s meeting and voted on.

III.             Treasurers Report    

Presented by Rich Smith. Motion to accept report made by Ron Hennessey, seconded by Mike Mansfield.

 

IV.              Old Business

Reinstating 4th grade cheering squad.  Debbie LeBlanc stated concerns about doing this at the last meeting.   She was afraid we would not be able to provide adequate practice space for the new squad or find someone to run it. 

Catherine Wolniewicz has a mother that has expressed interest in running the program and would like to look into the Knights of Columbus hall for practices.

Tom Ladd would like a commitment from someone to run it.  If a commitment is made the issue will be brought to the table at the next meeting.

 

 

Tom Ladd motioned to adjourn the meeting at 8:40.  Ron Hennessey seconded it.
